What Is Done When You Check Our Fire Extinguishers?
You may have seen certified technicians check an extinguisher and change the tag on it. Well, there is much more to it than just changing the tag. When Fire Shield Fire Protection, Inc. checks your extinguisher, among the many things that our qualified technician do are; check the gauge to see if it needs recharging, check the safety pin and replace the tamper seal, check the date of the extinguisher to see if it is too old, whether it needs a 6 year maintenance service or whether it needs to be hydrostatically tested. We also check the location, weight, make sure it is properly installed, properly located, and easily seen. We also inspect the bottle to make sure it is not damaged, rusted or corroded.
Once the regular maintenance is done we will notify you if additional services are necessary in order to keep your extinguisher working and in compliance.
